to break-even, with cash flow supporting creators and operations
Context
Rawberry Digital supported emerging video creators across the full content process: identifying opportunities, developing concepts, producing and editing work, publishing it and earning revenue from it.
My role
As Director and COO, I bootstrapped the business and developed its business, content and go-to-market strategies. That meant connecting creative output with distribution opportunities and a commercial model that could support ongoing production.
What I worked on
I identified market opportunities and defined content value propositions. I secured distribution agreements and priority promotional placements with telecom operators and streaming platforms, and negotiated standardised revenue-collection processes and payment arrangements.
Rawberry provided content for Sri Lankan mobile streaming platforms including Dialog MyTV, Mobitel SriFlix and Mobitel MplexTV. The business launched video-on-demand services and continuous-loop mobile TV channels across several genres.
Reported outcomes
The business reached break-even within four months and generated consistent monthly cash flow for artist payouts and operations from month four. The venture also recorded a 120% return on investment upon exit.
These results describe the historical venture. The return on exit is not an annualised return or a forecast for future projects.
Let’s talk about what comes next.
A hotel revenue challenge, a product opportunity or a commercial partnership.
